DScan is a document scanner that runs in your phone's browser. It is made by StellarClouds Private Limited. This page explains what happens to your data when you use it. The short version: your scans never reach us.

Your scans

What we count

To know whether DScan is useful, we use Mixpanel to record two events:

These events carry no file names, no images and nothing you typed. Mixpanel stores a random ID in your browser so it can tell a returning phone from a new one, and it works out a rough location (country and city) from your internet address. Session recording and automatic click tracking are switched off, because the screen shows your documents.

What we store on your phone

DScan sets no cookies. You can remove everything by clearing the site's data in Chrome, or by uninstalling the app from your home screen.

Our server

Our server only sends the app to your browser and shows the count of sends on the home screen. It stores nothing about you. It is hosted on Fly.io in Singapore, which keeps short-lived request logs (internet address and page requested) to run the service.

Children

DScan is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect anything about them. It collects nothing personal from anyone beyond the counts above.
